Healthy Smoothies

RAW CHOCOLATE BANANA SMOOTHIE

This uses what nutrition people call superfoods. It tends to keep people going until mid afternoon or sustains their energy during afternoon cravings leaving them in need of only a very light supper. It’s great after (or before) a workout or training session when hemp protein, maca, wolfberries & chlorella are added for extra protein. Best to drink fresh but it can stay in the fridge for a couple of days – so may be worth doing a batch (although best to add superfoods when you are about to drink it & avoid whizzing them up too much as the extra processing will deplete their energy force).
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbs ground cacao
  • 1 heaped tsp carob powder,
  • 200-250ml rice milk/almond milk/coconut milk/hemp milk
  • Grated coconut – fresh or bar
  • Cinnamon, nutmeg or vanilla to taste.
  • Optional extras – berries, papaya, 1 tsp maca, up to 1 tbsp bee pollen, 1 tbsp wolfberries, pre-soaked nuts or seeds, 1 tsp dehulled hemp seeds, 1 tsp nut or seed butter, sprouted flax seeds, living sprouts (alfalfa).

Avocado Banana Berry Smoothie

Half a ripe avocado 
1 to 1 1/2 frozen bananas 
4 to 5 frozen or fresh strawberries 
Splash of brown rice, hemp or other nut milk 
Pinch cardamon
Pinch allspice 
Whatever else strikes your fancy. . . 
Nuts, fruits, spices, etc 

Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend until desired 
texture is reached. Many prefer it smooth, 
but some like a chewable drink. Very, very delicious! 

Smoothie Recipe Serves: 1 

Banana Blueberry Smoothie

2 bananas 
1/2 cups blueberries 
1 cup plain yogurt 
Peel bananas, slice and place on a cookie sheet. 
Put in freezer and freeze until solid. 
Remove from freezer and place in blender. 
Slice berries and add to blender. 
Pour in yogurt. 
Blend until smooth. 
Pour into glass and serve.

Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

1 cup hemp or brown rice milk 
1/4 to 1/2 cup large flake oats
1 whole banana, cut in chunks 
1 medium size orange 
Combine all ingredients in a blender. 

Cover and blend on high speed for 1 minute

As above Optional extras – berries, papaya, 1 tsp maca, up to 1 tbsp bee pollen, 1 tbsp wolfberries, pre-soaked nuts or seeds, 1 tsp dehulled hemp seeds, 1 tsp nut or seed butter, sprouted flax seeds, living sprouts (alfalfa).

Banana Split Smoothie

1 cup hemp, brown rice or other nut milk 
1 1/2 cups frozen banana slices 
1/2 cups pineapple chunks 
5 frozen strawberries 
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (to taste) 
Pinch of Lo Han or Stevia Extract Powder (300 x's sweeter than sugar)

Pour milk into the blender first. 
Add cocoa and then fruit. 
Put cover on and blend until smooth.

Freedom Vanilla Melonade

You'll taste the essence of freedom in this fine vanilla melonade smoothie.

2 juiced or peeled lemons
1/4 of a medium watermelon
½ tsp. vanilla
4 cubes of ice
Sprig of mint

Crush the ice with lemon juice (or water if using peeled lemons). Add the watermelon chunks and finally the teaspoon of vanilla and the mint sprig and blend.

Pink Panther Smoothie

This sweet fruit recipe is great for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or for dessert.

2 cups hulled strawberries
1 cup chopped watermelon
Juice of 2 freshly squeezed oranges
Juice of 1 freshly squeezed lime
½ cup ruby red grapefruit juice

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Cover and chill. Before serving, shake or stir, then pour into chilled glasses.

High Whey Protein Smoothie

This whey protein smoothie recipe optimizes protein amounts by using hemp milk and almonds.

1/4 cup almonds
1 banana cut into chucks
2 or 3 tbsp of HI-Pro95 whey protein or according to the brand
1 cup of hemp milk/almond milk/coconut milk/brown rice milk or other nut milks
1/2 cup ice cubes


Directions:

Blend the almonds, banana, whey protein, your choice of milk, and ice cubes until a smooth texture is formed. Make sure the almonds are well blended. This whey protein smoothy contains a lot of protein.  Should extra sweetness be desired a pinch of Lo Han or Stevia 300 x's extract can be used.

Tibetan Sacred Smoothie Immune Strengthener and Anti-aging

1/2 cup presoaked (4 hours)Goji Berries
2 cups hulled strawberries
1 1/2 cups Pomegranite/Apple Juice
1 tsp Agave Nectar or more to taste

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Cover and chill. Before serving, shake or stir, then pour into chilled glasses.

MBT Detox Smoothie

Prewash fruit in Grapefruit Seed Extract
1 Lemon cut up (Remove outer yellow part but keep the white and the seeds)
1 Whole Pear, quartered (Use seeds and peel also)
1 tsp Golden Flax Seed Oil, or 1 tbsp Golden Flax Seed
1 tsp Hemp Seed Oil or 1 tbsp Hemp Seed
Pinch of Celtic Sea Salt
Couple of Drops of Stevia or Lo Han Liquid Extract
1 cup of Coconut or Alkaline RO water

Optional ( 1 Apple for more fibre)

Put in blender.  Start low and work up to high speed.  Enjoy!

Energy Smoothie

1/2 to 1 organic whole apple- Stem Removed - washed and quartered
2 cups almond milk
up to 1 tbsp Bee Pollen
1 tsp Agave Syrup or couple of drops of Lo Han or Stevia

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Chocolate Dessert Smoothie

1-3 tbsp raw chocolate nibs
2 cups home made Brown Rice Milk (use a Soy Milk Maker) Commercial made milks often have sugar in some form added.
1 previously frozen banana (Peel banana, slice and place on a cookie sheet. 
Put in freezer and freeze until solid. Remove from freezer and place in blender.)
3 or 4 frozen medium size Strawberries
2 Squirts of Agave Syrup or to sweetness taste

Add to blender and process until smooth.

Vegi-Chocolate Smoothie Good to get raw vegetables into children

1-2 small prewashed Dandelion Leaves
1 previously frozen banana
1 washed and scrubbed medium size carrot
1-3 tbsp raw chocolate
1-2 tsp Flax Seed meal
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Spoonable Stevia

Add to blender and process until smooth.  Enjoy!   or place in holder to make popsicles and let sit overnight until set. 

Vegi-Chocolate-Chili Smoothie

2 cups of  homemade brown rice, hemp, or almond milk
3 scoops Chocolate Chili Hemp Protein
2 or 3 prewashed Dandelion Leaves
1 leaf of Kale (stripped from stem)
 (optional) - 1/4 cup Blueberries or Strawberries or Vanilla to taste

Add to blender and process until smooth.   Very Healthy!!!

Cashew-Pumpkin Seed Smoothie

1- 1 1/2 cups Alkaline Reverse Osmosis Water
1/4 - 1/2 cups presoaked organic raw cashews (presoak for at least 4 hours in purified water)
Pinch of Celtic Salt
optional - 1/8 to 1/4 cup shaved coconut
Handful of raw pumpkin seeds
1 tsp blue agave syrup or pinch of Lo han or Stevia 300 x's extract powder
1 leaf of Kale (stripped from stem)
1/2 to 1 organic whole apple- Stem Removed - washed and quartered

Add to blender and process until smooth.  High in Zinc good for prostate gland.

Strong Bones - Calcium - Smoothie

1- 1 1/2 cups Alkaline Reverse Osmosis Water or homemade brown rice, hemp, or almond milk
1 leaf of Kale (stripped from stem)
1 washed and scrubbed medium size carrot
Handful of Parsley and Broccoli flowerets
1 or 2 Squirts of Blue Agave Syrup pinch of Lo han or Stevia 300 x's extract powder

Add to blender and process until smooth.
